It might not have, had you given that link. When I clicked on the
    photostream link, I got this:

    They do that, because ...
... they're built to do that.

    why 54 shots?
and what bracketing would allow for so many?
Can't really see the benefit that many shots, plus you run the risk of
    certain movement on the tripod.

If the noise reduction on the camera is turned off you can get a very
smooth noise free finish using many shots which have been stacked and
    merged.

Perhaps that was the point - slight variation adding to the 3D effect.
(He took 18 shots, each bracketed, so 54.)

  13. I believe the latest process by which this is achieved is called video.

I'm going to do the same thing for my mate's bar once he gets out of

Actually, my wife wants to get some of my photos printed poster-size and
framed for our new flat. She thinks some of them are quite nice.

Even I'm happy with the odd flower and bug piccie.

  15. Cheers. I've been meaning to get into HDR but still lack the tuits.

One option maybe to use Topaz Adjust 4 plugin for photoshop
( http://www.topazlabs.com/adjust/ you can download a free trial to see what
    you think...)

Using this you can get HDR esque images (and other tweaks) from a single
    jpg.
(other software claims to do this also mind you but Topaz is one of the
    better ones.)

You can choose from presets, use "I'm feeling lucky" or do it all manually.

Quite a groovy bit of kit if you enjoy that kind of thing.

The usual/most popular method though is shoot in raw. Then, using your raw
editor, produce the 3 images required (under exposed, normal exposure, over
exposed) and import into photomatrix to produce your HDR image (this is a
good method if taking a photo that includes a person as they tend to move,
so bracketing usually fails in this situation).

HDR isn't to everyones taste mind you.....

Yep, there are a few out there. Maybe worth trying the demos if that's the
    route you wanted to go.

Love that sky! Nice photo! One of the cool things about HDR (and similar
affects) is it can really bring out dramatic skies etc.

I love it - even more than tilt shift :)

  20. No it ain't.

Just for one thing you need juxtapositions for it to be art and if there
is anything HDR lacks it is juxtapositions. Also not a single mention of
the underlying metaphor. In fact not a single mention of a metaphor in
any state of repose let alone a subservient one. Unfashionable though it
may be to mention it but there is also not a whiff of dichotomy whichever
nostril it goes up either and what is art if it does not address
dichotomy. But for all that you miss the most important thing, it is not
art unless I say so and so far I have not.

So there you are, not art.
