    In the latest PB (or was it the one before? Anyway...) there was a
    little 2nd hand buying thing and they'd got what looked like a mint
    early one for £2k. They reckoned that if they broke it the
    engine/box/etc would be worth £2.5k on its own to a car builder.

    They also had a tidy RF900 for about £350. Not the most desireable of
    bikes, but very cheap speed

  8. I know someone who has one of those. Loves it despite it's many and
    manifest failings[1].

    But then he *is* Dutch..

    [1] Seems to combine all the worst aspects of Ducatis in one bike.
    Including the most alarming engine noise when cold..

    Freak. I'd be more inclined to put the RD engine in a GSXR frame.
