    Made a visit there today. If you like that kind of thing it's a fucking
    good day out. Need more than a day though.

    Good, innit? Go down the old mine?

    And if you're going in a group, it's worth checking out the "Friends of
    ...." membership - can make it a lot cheaper, especially if you think you
    might go more than once a year.

    We went around most of it, but only went to the mine head in the
    Colliery Village, they weren't running any trips down there.
    Yes, I got a year membership, we are definitely going back.

    I want to go to the Discovery museum in Newcastle as well, the
    'Turbinia' is stored there.
    Aye, I've heard of that, not too far from here either.

    Ah, yes - that's great. The interactive section is great fun - OK, it's
    designed for kids, but it's wasted on them.

    When my cousin was negotiating over his first house last year, the late
    owners son told him he could have the fridge but the cooker was sold to
    Beamish Museum. Suffice to say, a wee bit of modernisation was in order.
