A curse on them, a pox I say. Fucking cunts all.
Why...? If anything today was pleasant in that they didn't cut the GP to show some other program just becaue it over ran...
I think Darren might be referring to the way coverage was cut when only Nicky Hayden had reached the podium. No champagne spraying. No post-race press conference. But you are right. At least we got to see the whole race, in two parts.
Ah - but , as far as I know, they haven't done that part yet all year - they always end before that bit. Donington was hte possible exception, but the reason for that is rather obvious.
From where I was watching there were about 5 laps still to go when it was cut so some cunts could witter on about Rugby League. No digital here - I admit it, I can't afford it right now.
Isn't that a definition of any 'game'? -- ColonelTupperware, spouting bollocks on Usenet since 1997 Usenet FAQ at http://www.its.caltech.edu/its/services/internetapps/news/news2.shtml UPCE FAQ at http://upce.org.uk/ UKRM FAQ at http://www.ukrm.net/faq/
Probably. I just reserve a special hatred for the game which is "flog" backwards. It's a personal thing.
I was watching good old-fashioned, steam-powered, signal-transmitted-between-two-plastic-cups-via-a-taught-piece-of-string terrestrial BBC2. You are lucky it was only Rugby League your coverage switched to. Where you live, it could easily have been the Calthwaite sheep trials.
Bad form notwithstanding, I'm hi-jacking this thread back to the original topic. I now wish to modify my original statement only to refer to the controller of BBC2 for the North-East and Cumbria; it seems it was a regional decision. Hate-emails have been sent appropriately.
Only if you're so crap you can't participate or bear such a grudge from schooldays that you still hate sports.
"Do you see the person who assaulted you in this courtroom, Mr. Philipson?" "Yes, y'ronour." <points at Herdwick ram in dock>
I don't see the point in having a go at someone because they enjoy watching or partaking in any sport. Your view of sport is on a level par with those that want to ban motorbikes because *they* don't like them. Personally I find a lot of sports nothing less than brain murder to watch but others get a lot of enjoyment out of them so I just change channel and ignore it. Stop being a grumpy old man before your time and go and play on your bike while it's almost summer.

I have cable but I watch the GP on BBC rather than Eurosport. I didn't realise there was a difference in the content.
Poxy bloody northern ballsports. Anyway, the BBC's response: http://www.bbc.co.uk/complaints/news/2005/08/01/20867.shtml Probably about as good as it will get.
Should all ukrm'ers from the affected regions now write to the BBC *demanding* a free video/DVD of the entire MotoGP race in restitution? ;-)
"...and we recognise in hindsight this was not the right decision." It rather looks like they missed off the "However, don't think for one minute that we won't hesitate to remove coverage of future motorcycling in favour of the Ecky Thump Championship Whippet-shearing grand finals."
