Swot I thought.. So 165mph is a bit optimistic. I'd have thought that
such a professional policeman would have known the actual top speed of
the bike involved in the crash he was investigating.

I don't think that a police officer telling porkies about the max speed
of a bike is going to do anyone any great favors.

  3. It's just a shame that people like me already know that. I mean I've
never procreated and the last (and only) time I ever voted was 17 years
    ago.

So you see, it's the intelligent that don't do these things.

  4. Why not? If some lilly livered liberal thinks my bike will do 0-100 in 3
seconds and slaughter pig tailed horny virgins at 1000 paces then good
    show.

Oh it was a Bandit for sure, no other bike would be seen dead in that
    teal colour.

My point was more aimed at the investigating officer telling porkies, or
not bothering to do a simple looking up the top speed.

If you think it benefits the right people..

I don't think it benefits the right people. I think that intensionally
or not, the error speaks quite badly of the program producers and police.

Investigation by police and reporting by TV producers should rely on
facts, not romantic notions. This is the issue I have with these types
    of program.

  8. I do watch those kind of things very occasionally but I find the whole
concept hard to bear[1]. I can't quite explain it but it's like Big
Brother for me, most of the people IMO are so fucking stupid it makes me
angry. I really don't know if they are that dumb or they're just taking
the piss. Probably a mixture of the two. It's like those fucking "how to
make your kids behave better" type shows.
Mines a hold it in both hands job. Another few quid would've got me a
rumble pack but I went for a no frills job.

This lappy's rather disappointing for games so I'm sticking with
something simple until I can afford to upgrade.

And let it not be forgotten that his brake pads were worn, although he
did have a new set in his luggage. Obviously rushing home to fetch a
    tuit.

  11. I can understand where you're coming from but really, no one forces you
to watch it and there's got to be sensationalist stuff you watch but
don't realise. I can't really say because as I've said elsewhere in here
recently, I'm not well enough educated on those matters to know when I'm
    being manipulated.

    tailpiece.

  13. I bought what I thought was a decent laptop in May last year. I wanted
the P4 2.8GHz with DVD burner but they'd all sold out so went for the
next best which was a 2.8GHz Celeron (yes, I know that *now*) with just
a CDRW. Not much in it price wise but games wise it's slower than my old
    700MHz jobbie with a 64MB GF4.

  18. I have no idea I'm afraid. I'm not that up on technology. The only
reason I remember the specs of this one is because I wish I'd waited and
got the one I wanted. I'm sick and thinking this equivalent is available
for half the price it was 6 months or so ago.
Now who's waving the willy ;)

Except of course that over the last however many years the gummint has
spent loadsa dosh ensuring that the plebs are far from uneducated. Ill
educated maybe but uneducated definitely not.
