I often do! There's nothing wrong with the latest episodes
of The Simpsons, Futurama, Nip/Tuck [1], The Handler [2]
and Scrubs to name a few and I'm certainly looking forward
to season 3 of 24 - all of which are on Sky One.

Then there's the endless repeats of Knight Rider on Bravo
which is worth a tenner a month alone!

[1] Which is shaping up nicely!

Think of what the Beeb's delivered over the years both on television and
radio. I think it does a bloody good job.

But if the licence fee didn't exist, not would the BBC and hence nor
    would the website.
    See above.
I rarely turn my telly on. But I still think a tenner a month is worth
    paying for the BBC.
    Fine by me.

I've missed them, and I really want to see them. Anyone taped them? [0]

  8. I tell you, it's a relief to watch the Beeb occasionally via satellite.
I get pissed off at the constant adbreaks on all channels here, even the
state owned ones are commercial. We get hit with a double whammy; we pay
a licence fee and still have to sit through ad breaks on all four
    terrestrial TV channels.

The lovely thing about watching /listening to the Beeb from here is....
    it's free.

I wish I had. Connecting my freeview box to the tv via the video was
too much like hard work when the TV had a spare scart port.

I watch his anger and think. ****. Is middle age all about rage and
    alcoholism?

Well if they dropped *all* soaps, anything related with (re)building houses
    and brought back Barry Norman....

    It does.

Radio 4 is pretty bloody good. And I like the TV news output.

Their tv comedy is crap but R4 develops a lot of the 'comedy' that later
finds its way onto commercial telly. It's inevitably better on the
    radio though.

You know, I have been trying to think of a counter-example and can't.
THHGTTG and Dead Ringers certainly proves your point. I doubt if
IASIHAC would ever have made a succesfull transition.

Good as John Hurt is in this, this is another programme which would
work just as well (and oodles cheaper) on R4 .

  18. They've extended the date to the end of January (previously end of Dec),
so I might have a go myself. There's a lot of crap on ITV, but some good
stuff on C4, which I miss now.

  19. I taped last night's but not last weeks.

I've just remembered - it's now overtaped by something else as I type.

    Sorry.

Dead Ringers is one of my pet hates.

Any "impressionist" who begins a sketch with "Hello, I'm X", when
they've spent hours in make-up and wardrobe to look "just like" X, is
not confident of their ability, imo.

Now, Mike Yarwood, there was a craftsman.
