I mentioned this DVD in my earlier post today so here are some more details.

My mate Will has directed a documentary about Troy Bayliss, which is in the
final stages of production and will *hopefully* have Ewan McGregor as the
narrator (but see note below). It is due to be released at the GP in
October. I think Shell are sponsoring it (though I may well be wrong on this
    point).

The story behind it... Will is a non-motorcyclist who
    a) has a young son attending school at the same school as Troy Bayliss's son
    b) makes documentaries for a living (usually nature-related, Discovery
    Channel type stuff)

He met Troy at a Parent's/Friend's night at the school (in the South of
France) and as they were both from Oz, decided to have a beer together. When
Troy said he was the World Superbike Champion (this was late 2001), my mate
Will thought he was bullshitting, had a laugh and thought no more of it.
Troy apparently spent some time trying to convince Will of this fact.
Anyway, one thing led to another, the idea for a doco was hatched and Will
and a camera crew followed Troy around in 2002 for his final year at WSB, up
to and including Imola and the CE battle.

Anyway, the DVD is in the final stages of editing in a production suite in
North Sydney - and Mr. big-time movie-star Ewan McGregor has offered to do
the voiceover for free (!) as he is a huge Bayliss fan. This may or may not
actually happen, as Star Wars III has gone over its shooting deadline and
Ewan can't get away from Fox Studios to do the doco voiceover work, and he
is due to go back to the US to start another movie very soon. So it may not
    have Ewan as the narrator.

The DVD is meant to be released in time for the GP, but I'm hoping to see it
early next week (in a 'read-the-dialogue-yourself' situation). If I do I'll
post something resembling a review, if anyone is interested.

So look out for it :)

    Cheers
    Manning
