I have a 12v motorbike battery and need it to power something via
crocodile clips, my problem is that 12volts is too much! how do I
reduce the voltage? I was told I can buy something that goes on top of
the battery, covers the pos and neg and reduces the voltage then I just
put the clips onto that. But I can't find anything thats meant to
    reduce the voltage.

    Can anyone help:?

How many volts and amps do you expect to be drawing?

Cheap n dirty way of doing it, unscrew the caps on the battery and tap a
nail into one of the cells. I forget which terminal to "count" from, but
    that`ll give you 2/4/6/8/10v respectively.

P.S. You were great in Bedazzled.

It depends on what you want to drive off the battery. If the device
doesn't draw a lot of current you can by a load resistor cheap. If it
needs more current and a regulated supply then you will need a
converter of some type and they cost more.More info please :)
