Battery Water.

Discussion in 'Motorbike Technical Discussion' started by mike, Jul 20, 2010.

  1. Good for you and your shop manual.

Here's a nice reference on adjusting specific gravity.

    http://www.tpub.com/content/batteries/TM-10-6140-200-14/TM-10-6140-200-140027.htm

    Note the following paragraph.

    "Normally it should never be
necessary to adjust the gravity, but upsets, jar breakage,
additions of too much water and careless use of hydrometer
can result in electrolyte loss and possible reductions of
battery capacity.Lost electrolyte must be replaced but
only after it has been determined that charging will not
restore the gravity to normal when at the recommended
    level."

So what kind of mistakes were you making which caused
you to have to add acid to the battery ? Or did this all take
place only in your head ?

Perhaps you'd now like to cite your job history again to
    bolster this pretense of expertise.

You are full of shit. Wether it is idling or not doesn't have an
effect on if it over or undercharges, in this situation it is
overcharging. You obviously don't have a clue about these things and
it would be better for all if you stfu and lett your better discuss
it. Who know, you might learn something...then again you are a stupid
uneducable shit sucking racist bastard that never knew his mothers
face so it's likely that the only thing you are capable is being the
    groups target.

and here Krusty the kiddie loving Klown shows his lying skills...I've
ridden in ALL of those (more than once) the LOACH is the only one that
was built to a quality and standard of engineering that I would
consider safe at any speed or altitude. Oh and Krusty once agin you
lie like a congressman caught with a gigilo's cock in his ass.
ROTFLMAO you need killing, just as a mercy because you've become
delusional, deranged and you've got a NASTY case of dementia.

There are just a few simple rules to remember:

If the electrolyte is getting hot enough to boil away, the battery is almost
    certainly fucked by now.

If the electrolyte is gassing away on only 500 miles running, its almost
    guaranteed to be overcharging.

Only top up with distilled water - *NEVER* add acid, except to replace
    spillage.

yOU ARE A LYING PEDARAST! Not only that you spend all day shitting
yoru self in your depends...which is funny because I've family old
enough to be your parents and they don't need those or walkers or any
of the stuff that helps your sorry geriatric drug addled self around.
That's despite a stroke or two, custom harvesting during the
depression (rice wheat barley etc owned their own gleaners) a couple
wars, working in the boeing plants. You know patriotic american stuff,
unlike your sorry drug addled, welfare sucking self.

iirc there was a test aircraft...but unlike krusty and others I can
say that from memory and I'm pretty sure it's acurate. As to wether it
was a single motor or more I would have to say just one and it was NOT
mounted on the wing. But yes, yet again Krusty the Kiddie loving Klown
is dead (as in get people killed) wrong.

Let's see...this is what boeing has to say about the B-50.

    http://www.boeing.com/history/boeing/b50.html

I say trust the guys that built it over some schmuck that claims
california as home and likley doesn't live there AND who also claims
to know anything about aircraft or motorcycles exept enough info for
    him to say
    "rinngggggdinnngggdinnngggdingrinnnnnnnnnnnngggggggggggggdinnnnnnnnnnggggggggggggggdingdingding"
    "rowwwwwrrrr i'm a bomber" sounds.

To clarify the situation and shut that stupid pig fucking dirt farmer
    up...

    and I qoute

"KB-50J - The Air Force tentatively endorsed the KB-50J program in mid
1956, because it believed the KB-50s of TAC's aerial tanker fleet no
longer had both the speed and altitude to refuel modern jet aircraft
effectively 39 The KB-50J, first flown in April 1957, was still
powered by 4 Pratt & Whitney R-4360-35 piston radial engines, but
featured in addition two 5,200-pound thrust General Electric J47-23
turbojet engines that were installed in pods, suspended from pylons at
the former locations of the KB 50's auxiliary wing tanks."

39 aircraft out of thousands...it's like saying that vincent made
superchaged go karts in 1947(when in fact two of the lads to a dud
motor gussied it up on a frame then sold it to a chap from blackpool
and it still said vincent on the fuel tank)

    A KB-50 is NOT a B-50...period.

I worked for Hughes Tool Company twice, once in 1969, and again in
    1979.

The Hughes 500 (OH-6) helicopters were built by crack-smoking cocaine-
    sniffing
niggers in Culver City who only worked there to get a paycheck so they
    could
buy drugs and sell them on the street.

By 1979, HTC had totally lost control of all manufacturing processes
    except for rotor head assembly.

If I wanted to buy cocaine, the department supervisor was a handy
    source.

As long as you keep thinking that way, you're going to continue to add
too much water to your flooded cell lead acid batteries and you're
going to have to keep replacing them due to sulfation.
Who ever said anything about adding *acid* to a battery that has a low
    electrolyte level?

I've been talking consistently about adding *electrolyte* to fully
charged batteries that have low electrolyte levels.

Why don't you gays get it?
