Can anyone point me at a battery shop somewhere between the airport and
    Blacktown?
    I need a YB14L-A2 (or the maintenance-free equivalent)
    Thanks .... Clem

Probably against your propensity to do things on a shoestring Clem but I
recently bought a Deka Power Sports battery for the Pig. Made in the
U.S. and with a shitload more CCA than stockers, it's a sealed glass mat
jobbie. $190 but worth every cent for the Pig.

    ETX15L, it's a bolt-in replacement.

    Thanks Gerry;
I'd sent them an on-line query but they never responded. (I hate talking on
    the telephone!)
    Cheers ..... Clem

Hmm; that looks even better than the maintenance-free one I was gonna' buy:

I can't get the website to understand that there's other countries than USA
and Canada; do you recall if they stung you much for shipping?
    Thanks .... Clem

That was the one I was hunting at first, it's not a sealed battery though.
I got mine from Battery World here in Townsville.

All Purpose Batteries P/L 0246483111 Have 'em for $199 but you should be
able to bargain with 'em for 10% off at least...

http://tinyurl.com/yonae9 Top one on the page.

Spins over the Pig like there's no plugs in it...

Turns out the Deka has the same CCA as the YB14L-A2, 190. The
YTX14AHL-BS puts out 210. That'll teach me to listen to the salesmonkey.

The Deka seems to crank it over better than a stocker though and it's a
lot heavier. Plus it's fully sealed. I'm happy with it.

I was looking at the BIG-Crank equivalent of the Deka and it weighs 11lb as
opposed to the YTX14AHL-BS and the YB14L-A2's 7.5lb so I'm happy to accept
that there's more "plate" in it!
Only $60 with the current exchange rate too (although I expect postage to be
    a killer!)
