    Thanks everyone for replying!

I suppose I'll need a charger for over winter anyway, so ...

The battery says to charge at 12 v
    @ 1.4A for 5~10 hours Standard or
    @ 6A for 1 hour Quick

The Battery Tender Plus is 1.25A, but it is the only setting it has and I
    like versatility.
If I buy it, how long will it take to get it back up from 6v?

The only automotive chargers I've seen with more than one setting, one of
    them being 6A, is 2/6A.
Will 2A fry the battery? I see Mark mentioned using a 2A charger, but the
    battery he mentioned is different.

    Thanks a lot, again,
    Richard

I got the battery out. It was a little tough because it was an 8# straight
up lift with little to hold on to, and the sides were tight. The battery
looked find, no bloating, no starved horse look to it.
I got the Battery Tender Plus, it does a 1.25A charge, and switches to a
"float" charge. I left it on all night. It was blinking green this morning,
meaning 80% charged, so I should be ready to ride tonight!

    Thanks for all the tips!

    Richard may have written:
Good choice. If it is the same model as mine you can leave the battery on
the charger all winter without damageing the battery.

    Hi Richard,

A constant voltage charger like a Battery Tender Plus will normally
take the number of amps that need to be replaced divided by the
current output of the charger times two. So if you have a fully
discharged 10 amp hour battery and a 1.25 amp charger, it will take
approximately 16 hours to full recharge it. Since the Battery Tender
Plus has a fixed timer on the absorption charge stage, you might
unplug it from the 120 VAC power after six hours to reset the timer,
so you can fully charge your dead battery.

Please see Section 9 in the Car and Deep Cycle Battery FAQ on
www.batteryfaq.org for more information and tips on charging and
    chargers.

    Kindest regards,

    BiLL........
