    Hi All.
I hope I'm in the right place to ask for help.
I have just become the owner of a Batavus go go registerd 1975.
It seems like it's got compression when you pedal it but it dosent
start. there is a spark from the plug. This bike has been stood for
sometime. does anyone have any hints on what to do or where to look for
    help?
    thanks Gill.

When did it last run you say sometime ago? sounds like the carb has clogged
up somewhere, any smell or sign of petrol on the plugl?
Strip the carb or find a known good un and try again.
Or....... ignite the whole thing with a gallon of petrol and claim the
    insurance

Not a good plan, I mean what can you do with £2.50 these
    days...?

He is probably right (about the carb being to blame)

    This might help...

Elsewhere on his site he has a discussion on carbs for the
    Batavus.

It's a dead simple carb (not even a needle to mess with), a
good clean, a squirt of easystart and away you go...

Oh, sorry it's the petrol that's insured...
