I made it home in jeans and jacket just before it really started so
    didn't get wet.
Got a nail in mine last week as well. Have it plugged at the service,
promptly forgot and tested how well plugs stand up to 150mph jaunts.

These chaps are very helpful, I recently had them survey one of my client's
    buildings for transient voltage protection.

My Helmet and gloves are still damp now despite being hung up on
Thursday night. This afternoon's ride should dry them out I guess.
Luckily it was slap in the middle of the tyre so Wheelhouse patched it
yesterday. Tested up to 130 this morning on the way in to work... well
the road was so empty it had to be done.

Riding the thing yesterday with the tyre deflating was a bit bizarre
though. Cornering and accelerating not a good idea at all :)

    jsp says...
Stick them all on one of those multi-point extension leads, then you
only have one plug to remove. My whole PC/TV/Video set-up is on one of
those. Kind of naughty I know, but the total current drain is still less
    than the recommended maximum.

Even within the 12 months, Mastercare deal with just about all repairs.

Manufacturers 'subcontract' their warranty work to companies like
    Mastercare.

Oh well. I'm not worried, the stuff is 'free' and it's easier than
    trying for a cash settlement.

    How about a UPS?

  14. It was somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the
Variable in their effectiveness. A proper full-on real UPS should handle
just about anything, but a severe strike will blow it up anyway.
Most UPSs (like mine) are simply fast changeover devices and work well
enough for most sags, rises, spikes and surges, but it'll blow up under
    the wrong conditions as well.
Having said that, I've had several repeats of the incident which blew my
main machine and the UPS has protected the equipment, so I'm happy
    enough with it.

It's interesting to look at the voltage logs and see just how bad the
    power supply is.
