Bandit Owners (past or present)

Wonder if this fountain of knowledge can help:

On a Bandit N600, does the clampy thing and heatsheild wotsit (sorry about
the technical jargon) drift off the the downpipes at the collector box or is
it welded on?

I wanted to take it off and clean it all up whilst fitting the new can

Are you sure you mean down pipes? The heatshield hides the join between
the end can and the collector box.

It is a permanent fixture welded to the exhaust. I can't recall if it's
welded to the end pipe or the collector box, though.

It is also a prime candidate for rusting. I had to remove mine and
replace with a stainless hose clip and replacement shield (banditmania
supplied)

Thats the one I mean,

hmmm I won't try and drift it off then, I just wasn't sure weather it was
welded or stuck.
