Hi folks can anyone help please ? I have the chance to buy a second hand
    Ohlins shock for my bike.
The man selling it says that the clevis bolt and little spacers are missing
because he's put them somewhere safe ! The bolt is apparently longer than
the original bandit one so I would have to source this.
Can anyone suggest where I might be able to buy the spacers and bolt,
google doesn't seem to want to be my friend.
    TIA Gareth.

Halfords probably. Try your local tool/materials suppliers. The sort
you find in the Yellow Pages that rely on local trade and are prepared
to offer service without charging for P&P.

    Where are you?

If you live near anywhere resembling a town, look in Yellow Pages
    (http://www.eyp.co.uk) under Fixings & Fastenings.

I'm in South Wales, I'm sorry I Should of stated that I'm more concerned
about what the actual parts are / dimensions etc and whether they need to be
    of a particular material, thanks.....

Or even better would be the nice folk at Harris Performance Products,
who import Ohlins[1] gear into the UK:

into my steering damper mounting bracket.

eBay. Always someone on there knocking out bolts for
silly money compared to a proper fasteners shop, but
when you only need one and you're a lazy **** there's
    nothing better.

If you'd trust your life to a suspension bolt bought off ebay, you deserve
what you get IMHO. Just think of the consequences of a monoshock bolt
shearing and order the proper item from the O.E. manufacturer

    Big shock ?

I'd buy one from an engineers merchants, with the right shoulder length
and made of high tensile steel.

I've bought leaf spring nylock nuts from the same place and they're
    still on after several years.

I'd similarly avoid ebay or Halfords, but there's no need for OEM if
you know what you're on about and what to ask for .. !

This URL isn't bad on bolt markings, I knew the imperial markings, and
metric 8.8 and 10.9 but never knew there was a super strong 12.9

I'd just look for 88 on the bolt head and be perfectly happy.

Look, I know you're an engineer [1] and all that. But as per my post,
i'd wanna see something better than 8.8. Nice allen socket head maybe
    ... ?

    Cheers

    Paul.

Too many manky cap head screws around for me to be happy unless I'd
    liberated said bolt from work.
