Mine has got a slight hesitation in the 4K-5K rev range on acceleration.
A quick google reveals there to be a 'mod' by fitting a 020" shim in the
carb needles. Various sites list Radio Shack as a supplier of the right
    size/thickness washers.

Have you ever done this - know where to get some suitable shims/washers
over here? I'd prefer to try and get the right bits before taking the
    carbs all apart.

    TIA

ps - managed to get a fairing on e-blag, so I maybe fitting that this
    w/e if it arrives...

Try Maplins or your local R/C or Railway Model shop for the shims. They
should have brass washers that are suitable.

    Almost certainly.

Yep, but I don't/won't know those sizes until I take 'em apart.
I think that's the case, yes, ta.

You could use a thickish hard plastic washer of the right diameter - it can
then be easily adjusted by sanding it down a bit at a time until it seems to
    be in the "sweet spot".

Why not just raise the needles by one notch?
And while you do, check the diameter and notch spacing so you can get a supply of washers.

Haven't got a Mikuni needle to hand but a Dynojet one is 3mm diameter and the notch spacing is 1mm.
ISTR that the Mikuni needles were a touch smaller, perhaps 2.5mm but a 3mm washer would do.

Radio Shack is in the US - that's over there, whereas I'm over here.

    I know where I mean.
