New rules are full power but compulsory carrying of a large cheese at all
    times.

If you look at the manimum torques and hps of the two bikes, the 650 has
slightly more torque that is a lot lower down in the rpm range than the
    600.

    2005 Bandit 650.

    77.5 PS @ 10100 rpm
    59.2 Nm @ 4,000 rpm

    2005 Bandit 600.

    78 PS @ 10500 rpm
    54 Nm @ 9500 rpm

Inroduced specifically to fulfil Auvache's desire for a B6 with
torque, obviously. Perfect, therefore, for old gimmers who can't use
    the throttle.

No, perfect for wise old gimmers who can, and will, use a throttle but
who also believe it ought to be good for pulling through a full three
octaves not just a fucking semitone.

    <usurps thread>

**** me but Bandit 12's are a great every day bike.
I've fitted the low swept back renthals which were on the gixxer, they
are cut as narrow as the levers will allow. Comfy as they come and it
cuts through traffic like a whippet. Even with the Holeshot engine
they are amazingly tractable bikes, I probably have to do an extra
    gearchange but still...

I was just about to refer the gimemr to my sig, but you beat me to it.

Now do you see why the B12 ought to be available on prescription?

Apparently, you can put a 6 speed box in a Bandit 1200. There was that
GSXR air / oil cooled engine compatability guide someone here posted a
couple of years back. The engineering is do-able, it's just that nobody
    seems to have bothered.

Doesn't need it really. This one just needs a little nursing, no wide
throttle/low revs/cold engine stuff. I think a carb balance will work
    some magic around town anyway.

Carb balance always helps. It helped my little FZR no end, although I've
been reduced to balancing them by eye, not having the kit to do it any
    more.

New plugs help a lot with Bandit lumps imo, as they seem to clog up
    quite easily on those engines.
