I've always tried to stay out of the 4WD/school run debate but this mornings little incident has made me think long and hard about it.... Thumping (well sort of) down the road on my XT, 25ish past a school (it only has one gate and a massive brick wall on it's boundary, the gateway and path were empty). Cars parked to my right and a black 4WD in the middle of the row facing the same way as me. I Get about ten yards away from it when suddenly out it pulls out towards my side of the road, no indication. I sounded the horn whilst braking but the bastard carried on. I manoeuvred for the kerb to my left and managed to squeeze between that and the front of the vehicle (XT brakes aren't the most amazing in the world). At this point the driver realized I was there and stopped. I turned round to see a woman removing her headphones to hear what I was shouting at her! Why would you wear headphones in a car that is presumably equipped with a radio/cd player? I thought for a moment it was a hands free kit but I'm not sure they some with two ear pieces? ....my conclusion: It's got fuck all to do with the vehicle, the drivers are normally the ones causing the problems :)
