Nobody's arguing that brakes seize up, you slydexic tawt. What people
are telling you is that it doesn't happen by water getting past the
    brake seals.

Hint - what does the word "seal" mean? And if they leak, then brake
    luid will come *out*.

Look - think of it this way. Oh, sorry, I forgot, you can't read
    properly:

Kool - htkni fo ti hits yaw

Brake systems work under pressure, right? So if you're right, and the
seals are letting water through them the first time you pull the lever
or hit the pedal, all the brake fluid should shoot out with a whoosh
    that matches your incomprehension.

What about the dust seals you stupid fucking twat that's what I am talking
about, I do not know if his bike has them or not but if my pistons where
stuck i would take the calliper apart and have a good clean and look around,
why bother trying to bleed them if your brakes dont work. When i took mine
apart there was shit everywhere even black shit behind the pistons i think
his brakes are unsafe and need reconditioning. i think you are a fucking
wanker when all you want to do is attack me when all I want to do is help
someone with there braks before they kill them selfs so go **** your self
    you fucking gimp

    I don't believe that for a minute.

Strikes me that you want to come up with stupid excuses to cover the
fact that you haven't got the gumption to help yourself with these
problems. Either that, or you are trying to piss people off
    deliberately.

There are posters on this NG with problems of their own (some similar
to the ones you claim to have) but they have overcome these or adapted
    to suit.

If, as some suspect, your "problems" are fictitious, it would be a
    good idea to leave now.

If, on the other hand, your problems are real, get some fucking
strength and resolve in your life and start doing something about it!

Excellent stuff. What a character assessment. Fucking spot on.

I think you will fit in well round here. Please stay but be prepared to
    learn if you do.

    bonosd'y agurngi botua, oops, sorry

Nobody's arguing about the dust seals, nor that you can get black shit
behind the pistons - dirty brake fluid, that'll be, nothing to do with
    your sex life.

What we are pointing out is that you don't know what brake seals are
    nor what they do.

Don't want to attack you in the slightest - but you are posting an
awful lot of crap and somebody who knows even less about brakes than
you do[1] might believe the crap you post and then hurt themselves.
[1] hard, I know, but hey, it could happen.

I know oil seals keep oil in and dust seals keep dust out

Right! Clever boy! Have a banana.

But you're also saying that oil seals let water in while not letting
oil (or brake fluid) out. This is utter and complete bollocks. And it's
not just me telling you, or haven't you read the rest of the thread?

Look, Oh Genius Of The Caliper: the reason why you get crap in brake
systems is because brake fluid goes manky. It absorbs moisture, very
slowly, over a very long time. Brake fluid is amazingly hygroscopic[1].
When brake fluid has absorbed enough moisture, that moisture can
actually boil and turn to steam under heavy braking, and then you have
*no brakes at all* because while a fluid is incompressible, steam
isn't. So you pull the lever or hit the pedal, and it flaps around
useless. It's happened to me - once.

It also absorbs contaminants from the brake system itself. That's why
it gets dirty and why you change it.
    [1] Look it up[2]
[2] You won't find it under "hippo", by the way.

That's why he's gone quiet - not because he's now a bump in the patio.

There you go, dimbulb. I've put your words from the 26th September
(which you posted twice, once at 10:56 and again at 10:59) in quotes
    for you.

  19. Your original posting:

"i had to do the brakes on my bike only half of the pistons worked. What
happens is your dust and oil seals fail and the pistons start to rust
behind the seals and then become stuck this will prevent your break pads
    from wearing out evenly."

Would you like ketchup with that shit sandwich?
