About 30 years ago I worked with a Jew who occasionally came to our site 20 miles away from his synagogue. When we made ordinary bacon Butties in the Dinning room & he thought he wouldn't be seen by another jew he would sin! The look on his face when he started eating was like an orgasm!
Knew this wonderful guy* out in Jordan, a moslem of Palestinian extraction, when we went camping he'd be over to our tent first thing each morning, "You will be doing bacon sarnies, right?" his wife, an extreamly well educated lady who'd spent many years in London/New York, was disgusted by his behavior... We use to rib her about it and point out that she enjoyed alcohol - "Thats different, alcohol is forbiden, but bacon/pork is DIRTY..." *Sells more paint in the HKJ than anyone else...
My real ale pub is sometimes visited by an elderly couple and the woman swears by a sprinkling of blue cheese on her bacon just before it has finished grilling. I have yet to try it for myself, but I'll not knock it until I try it. Dave

I'll try anything on a bacon buttie, but once anything but bacon is applied to the bread (Warbies toastie un- toasted, not toast, not ciabatta, not naan, not pita) it moves out of being a bacon buttie into a buttie with bacon and... whatever else is added.
