Four thick rashers of dry cure back bacon, fried chestnut mushrooms,
fried tomato and a runny fried egg on a toasted ciabatta with tomato
ketchup and Encona hot pepper sauce.

Is it possible to make a better bacon buttie than that?

  2. This isn't just any newsgroup crosspost. This is an M&S newsgroup
    crosspost.

Four thick rashers of bacon with brown sauce, served in two thick white
slices of bread, one side of which has been fried in the bacon fat.

Heh. Coincidentally, the tomatoes and mushrooms were from M&S.

Yes, use Oyster mushrooms that have been grilled in peanut oil until they're
    crispy around the edges.

Yep. Lose the mushrooms and the tomato. And the egg. Oh, and the
ketchup and the pepper sauce. (Otherwise it's a breakfast roll, or it
would be if you were using a proper roll...)

4 slices of bread, make into sandwiches filled with bacon, and nothing
else. The slices of bread should be at least three quarters of an inch
apart. Consume in 15 minutes with three pints of ale.

  12. I always found it strange that the M&S Christmas ad for turkey used
'Albatross' as the background music. Made it very confusing as to what
the flavour was or whether you got wafers with it.

Yeah, two slices of Warbies toastie and bacon, but the ciabatta sarnie you
    made *does* sound delicious.

Yes - that's good. I only specified HP because the
local Tesco doesn't sell Daddies (even if anyone
    else does).

I haven't had bread and dripping since I was a kid. Beef dripping spread
on white bread with a lashing of salt. Food for kings.

    Isn't it just.

That lovely, rich white fat layer with the congealed cold dark blood
    below it. mmmm.
