Ta for suggestion, but I can't take ibuprofen as I am already on diclofenac. Thanks, but there's an osteo and acupuncture clinic here just up the road if I decide to do that. -- Marina Mayes - Reading, UK. To email me remove XX from my address SR250 - gone. Actually, this is the first time for years. Yes, but I've had worse - when it was combined with the slipped disk, every step was agony. To walk the few steps from bike to restaurant took 10 minutes, even with two sticks (they strappd onto the forks). Funnily enough, climbing onto the back of the bike wasn't too bad and, once settled, I was OK (remember the huge doses of drugs I was on). After slowly and painfully clambering on in Dublin, I got applause from the crowd that had gathered to watch. -- Marina Mayes - Reading, UK. To email me remove XX from my address SR250 - gone. I'm on diclofenac long term - I always take it with food and I don't get a reaction. I also drink lots with no bad results. However, I do get a codeine reaction, a small amount makes my head spin, so I'll be very careful with the codeine/paracetamol - if 1 is not enough, I'll take 1 plus 1 plain paracetamol. Maybe - but it has always gone away by itself before, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Also, on someone's recommendation, I bought a TENS machine thingy in lloyds today. Got it home to find it needs triple A betteries, which are not included and which I don't have. no way can I trek out again (no car today). I'll ask Owen to pick some up on his way home - I'll report back on that. I'm highly suspicious of magnetic trickery - sounds very Victorian. -- Marina Mayes - Reading, UK. The core issue is a crumbling lowest vertebra, which has always been a problem. My Dad had it too, they operated and the pain and troubles just tranferred themselves to the next one up. Mostly, if I'm careful, I don't get problems. -- Marina Mayes - Reading, UK. To email me remove XX from my address SR250 - gone. It's been looked at and X-rayed many a time. Some arthritis there, crumbly bones, trapped nerves, I get it all. :-( -- Marina Mayes - Reading, UK. To email me remove XX from my address SR250 - gone. Bad form but ... So, I am now on this latter and the pain is much less, my head is still as together as it ever is and the constipation not too bad. So far, so good. It's wonderful - I was giggling like a loon last night. It does seem to help a bit (though not much) with the pain. I'd recommend it to anyone just because it is such fun. For those who haven't tried one, it's like having your own personal masseur for 15 minutes every 3 hours. My body so much believed it was a pair of hands that I kept looking round to try and see them. -- Marina Mayes - Reading, UK. To email me remove XX from my address SR250 - gone. Depends on how you set the tens machine up. I set my one up for a continuous lowish level and wear it all day, taping the wires and pads onto my forearms. Stops the waves of muscle spasm I get in my arms.
That reminds me, make sure the controls are taped up. I ended up knocking one up to full and smacking myself in the eye during a lecture.
