    Hi folks,

Lisa and I just returned this morning from 6 weeks holidaying in and around
Asia. Yes, it's a tough thing to have to do but you know the drill.

When we got back this morning (6:30am), there were 2 urgent messages on our
phone from Fairfield detectives saying that they have my Ducati, stolen a
year ago from our place in North Ryde. The poor baby was found during a
raid early in October and now they require some statements from me. Amazing
huh? The contact wasn't there so I couldn't glean anything about the raid,
    her condition etc.

So I'll be keen to see how she is and how many clicks have been done -
assuming no tampering with the instruments.

Anyway, that's an interesting start to our descent back into the 'real
world'... Now to find an angle with the wifey about buying her back from
    the insurance company! :)

    Cheers,
    Dave ZZR600 => ST2 (stolen and now recovered) => '03 XX

Hmmmm ... I wonder if they have my blade lying around as well. I wish they'd
let us know who these thieves were .... oh ... the sweet sweet revenge.

Mate, I've returned with some new (and startling) ideas about punishment
    methods...

I'll do my best to find out about the bastards and keep you posted.

    Cheers,
    Dave

If you want to dish out your own punishments rather than let the courts do the
job, perhaps you should leave the police out of the loop and find your bikes
and the people who took them yourselves too. :)

Do you get first bite at it ? Or is it just going to be sent down the
    auctions?

Not sure, but AFAIK, I have no claim over the bike now that insurance has
    paid up.

Will be interesting to see the bike again. Also, anything about the theft
itself will be of passing interest.

    Cheers,
    Dave

The insurance company is holding on to your wife? How do you organise
    *that* policy?

    ;-)

It's a Ducati ST4 Al; it was either a panty-raid or a raid on some sort of
    gay hangout!

Well, it is/was a ducati so kit-form is almost traditional.

  10. Not sure why you'd want it back. The one thing you can count on is
that they rode it like they stole it.

If they're professional thieves who understand the importance of not
attracting attention to themselves by ripping around their neighbourhood
on one of the stolen bikes filling their shed, that's one thing you can
    be sure they_didn't_do.

If they've still got the stolen bike 18 months after they stole it you can
almost certainly discount them as being professional.
