After more than 5500 km across South Africa, Swaziland and
Mozambique I finally ended back here in Oxford.
Motorcycling in SA rocks the phat one and I do want one
of those 1150GS jobbies badly. Will put some shots and some
footage on the webby thingy at some point, plus a GPS trace
for the nerds. Good to be back? Nope, would have rather
stayed there.

"Sarah's" in downtown Doha. An enormous bowl of delicious curry, and
all the naan you can eat for a quid.

 

It's not "shit": it's mostly very nice (apart from the shit bits,
obviously). I didn't like it, though. I found the poverty-wealth
divide offensive.

The whites were amazingly self-absorbed, pompous and casually racist,
though.

I would agree with that, but fortunately have met the occasional
difference. The poverty wealth divide is quite crass though.
Interesting enough, in Pretoria we saw the first white street vendor [1]
trying to sell some selfmade pastries or so. People were saying
that the is an increasing group of extremely poor white, interesting
enough predominantly Afrikaans.

[1] Not on a stall, but walking between cars at the traffic light.

 

Ugh. Sir should have tried Hobee's, a much better brekkie.
