I got nicked for speeding in Kingston Bagpuize before they put the
by-pass in. I think I blew it when the cop asked me "do you know what
speed you were doing through Kingston Bagpuize?" and I answered "where
    the **** was that?"

    Wyre Piddle.
I would have suggested Nether Peover but it seems to have changed to
Lower Peover since I was a lad.

Maybe you should listen to Flanders and Swann's 'Slow Train'.
It has only a couple of slightly rude places. The rest are merely funny.

Ah yes. I see the signpost for that when I'm visiting my bro's family.

    Does it come under Upwey?

Wonderful. Although I feel it's more applicable to the likes of a CG125
    than a Gixxer thou.

  13. Wonderful. I haven't read that for 20 years.

I feel he missed out on Kilkenny (n)- the oldest object at the bottom of
a chest freezer which is always passed over in favour of something more
enticing, gradually becoming more and more inedible until it assumes the
    character of an iron ration.

    snip
Crowmarsh Gifford (Oxon) sounds like a Noel Coward style intelligence
officer of the 1930's... I can see it all so clearly...

"Hullo, Commander Crowmarsh-Gifford here, m' friends call me The Giff.
18 months in Baluchistan, 12 in the Balkans and the past 2 years
infiltrating ruddy nazi cell's around Europe and Russia... Any chance
of some kedgerie or a decent Arbroath smokie? Oh and I seem to be
    totally out of Sullivan Powells..."
