b*stard thing still does not run..

Following on from my previous thread about the battery in my
CBR1000F..

I have now put the new battery in and that seems fine now, however the
bike still did not tick over.

I checked the spark plugs and they are clean, so I set the gaps and
put them back. The air filter is a K&N one and seems to have been ok.
So I adjusted the throttle stop with the intention of having an
'Italian tune up' however the throttle was sticking open making it
rather dangerous to ride !

I checked the cables, and the lever seems to be actually closing ok..
Does this mean I have to take the carbs. off and have them to bits or
shall I try spraying some cleaner in first ? I put rather a lot of
redx in the tank as well.. I wander if I put too much in ? I'm half
tempted to take it to a shop and let them sort it, I just want to ride
the fff'ing thing really !

I took one of the carb covers off and can't get the spring back in
now it's got dark ! ( the needle valve thingy did look a but mucky
though.. ) bugger it !

Has it been rejetted to match?

This needs fixing as a priority. If you cannot achieve proper throttle
control just how do you expect to perform well in front of the 6th form
girls?
