I like the cleverness. Listening to 'Regeneration' on the way home
tonight and admiring the thought that went into the songs.

He draws on his knowledge and experience and makes some wry, sharp
    observations.

This seems an appropriate response to the 'bit too clever' comment

    You've got a personality
We'll throw you in the sea and watch you drown
    Dumb it down
    Your concentration span's too long
It's longer than this song, that's not allowed
    Dumb it down
You don't need books to know what's what
We'll pile them up and burn them to the ground
    Dumb it down
And if you say that we're corrupt
We'll round you up and run you out of town
    Dumb it down

Down and down and down it goes
    Where it stops nobody knows
And not a lot of people seem to care
Well it's so crazy, it's so great
    We can all communicate
But no one's saying anything out there
    Is there anybody out there?

    Intelligence is dangerous
A virus of the brain you pass around
    Dumb it down
We'll vaccinate each boy and girl
Lobotomise the world through sight and sound
    Dumb it down
No one can tell you what to think
And if you think that's true then you're a clown
    Dumb it down
'Cause freedom's wasted on the free
You just don't see the beauty all around
    Dumb it down

Down and down and down we slide
    It's too tricky to decide
    Between channels one and sixty-three
    'Cause everything is mindless fluff
Like this world's not dumb enough
Does anybody feel the same as me?
    Is there anybody listening?

The weather forecast for Glasto is average at best, I'm afraid.

and anyone who'd any sense of hip would have been going to Glade
    instead this year.

<shrug> I wanted to go , I was still considering it up until about 7pm.
But falling off my bike this week would not have been a useful thing to do,
so I went to the gym instead :)

Was the ride home warmer than the last time?

You won't be surprised to hear I've not heard of it.

<ggogle> "Electronic Dance Music Festival". Hmmm. Ah, I see it's a
spin off from "The Glade" area at Glasto, which just produced 72 hours
of doofa doofa doofa noise last time I was there.

Hip? Surely that's just so 1998?

Why on earth would you have fallen off? Seriously, my forecast was
spot on - windy, but the roads were 90% dry. I even got a bit of
    sunshine on the way there.
Yeah - the cloud cover meant the temp stayed up ok.

exactly - Glasto without all the shite hippy and metal crap: read my
    lips: "Spare me"[1].
    [1] sorry, I've been re-reading "Glamorama".

I probably wouldn't have. But I'm going away next week and it would have
    been sod's law to
injure myself just before another holiday (as I did in March with my back).
It wasn't the rain or the temperature that I found offputting, it was mainly
    the wind.
Definitely be up for turning out again before the end of the summer. :)

Glasto hasn't had hippy or metal crap for years. Unfortunately. I
decided not to go this year cos I thought the band list was so
mainstream and shite. Paul McCartnet headlining, FFs

I'm not sure if I've bollocksed the Guzzi or not.

There was *no* oil on the dipstick this morning. I had to use a BBQ
skewer to find any traces of oil in the sump. Stacks of it all over the
    back end though...

Topped it up a bit (didn't have enough 4 stroke oil to get it up to the
minimum mark), started the engine. Doesn't knock when cold. Looks
    hopeful.

Proper top up and test spin later to find out more.

A solid hour 100+ may not have been such a good idea either that or I'll
have to get round to fixing the oil lamp....

Maybe it doesn't need oil and they just added that because everyone else was
    doing it...

I know very little about engines, but I would have thought you'd know about
    it if you run
an engine at high load with no oil for a period - ie. you'd have blown it
    up.

Wonder if there's an oil slick all the way from Avebury to Brighton :)

It'll take more than running a bit low on oil to bugger one of them
    tractors, surely?

Did you try it with the new bars?

And more importantly... did Sweller try the GSX-R?

    Nah.

It was grey and overcast, and damp in places. We sat inside and told
    tall tales.

    Someother time, I hope.
