Crazy. The only ID they're taking is the original card used to buy the
ticket, the original bank statement of credit card bill showing the
purchase (they're providing shredding facilities on site, ffs!) or a
    photo drivers licence.

Presumably they're sending the card/bank statement with the tickets when
    sold. Cunts.

I took a look at the prices, a quick look at the sort of sellers and
    what was being provided.
a few sellers are providing bank statements.
I f the prices had been cheaper I would have looked into this further,
as it is I just scanned and added it to the 'no' file.
Certainly bank statements. It will be interesting to see how the
    system works.

    Have a great weekend.

Should be do-able, provided I get out of work on time.

See you there. (Unless it's wet. Or I don't feel like it. Or there's
    something good on telly. Or...)

His lyrics are good, but the music is so self-indulgent, and so, so
    over-orchestrated.

Hopefully it'll clear up a bit, as at the moment it's more boat weather.

    Yes.

I'm in the 'lyrics over the music' camp. Hence why my love of Pulp
annoyed the hell of out of my muso ex.

If I listen to music with lyrics, I like the lyrics to be good. I
like Pulp, too, and I do like the Divine Comedy, it's just that I wish
some of the arrangements were a bit more sparse.

If I had to level one cricitism at Neil Hannon, it'd be "a bit too
clever", iyswim. After that, maybe the arrangements - he tends to
end up sounding a bit Mike Flowers Pops.

I'm sure you Lyrics-fans won't be bothered but the Aphex Twin "remix"
of Mike Flowers Pops' "Debase" is rather good.

I'm pretty near Avebury, & it stopped raining around an hour ago, but
was still *very* windy. It then went eerily calm for a while, but the
wind's just started to pick up again. If this is the other side of the
storm moving in, I expect it'll clear up around 7pm.

Bad form & all that, but it's 7pm, & there's a big blue patch starting
to appear through the clouds :) Still windy as **** though.

I would have been, but I found myself on my knees in the downstairs loo[1].

Later, I consoled myself with a bottle of Chimay[2], and standing out in the
garden, watching the clouds rip by all grey and orange, and wishing I was
out there on the Drifter on some lonely road...

    Bugger.

[1]plugging screwholes in the floorboards so Madam can go loopy with the
    varnish, if you must know.

Ben Blaney secured a place in history by writing:
Agree - but I quite like that in what he does, it suits complete over-
    blownness

Got back about 20 minutes ago, didn't go via the M$ but rather oddly
decided to back Andover - Winchester - Pompey. Bike started smoking
around Chichester. Or more to the point when I stopped at the traffic
lights there seemed to be a burning rubber smell.

It wasn't burning rubber as such but burning oil. There does seem to be
a fair amount of oil over the back end. I suspect the breather lifted
and stayed lifted during the bonkers return thrash. Its done it before
and no doubt will do it again.

Wonder if there's any left in the sump....

    Nice.

I'm looking forward to 110 miles tomorrow morning in the pissing rain on a
bike loaded to kingdom come with beer. This better be worth it...!
