They just didn't inspire confidence - and the bike reacted violently to a
relatively innocuous piece of shiny road surface (both wheels
sliding/shimmying) - that doesnt' add to the confidence.

Basically it made me think twice about any kind of excitement through the
bends if the road surface was anything but perfect, and also the odd thought
    about white lines.

TBH, these were not thoughts I had on the GSX-R, but it's not really a fair
comparison to make for a number of reasons, therefore I'm going to stick
with them until they wear out then make a choice, but likely to go for 020's
    TBH.

    Can't argue with that.

I'm not sure if this is your first big trailie, but if so, there's a
couple of things you should bear in mind. When a wheel slides then
grips again, it causes a momentary unloading/re-loading of the
suspension. This is far more pronounced on a heavy bike with soft
suspension, & unsettles the whole bike more than it would on a lighter,
    stiffly-sprung sports bike.

In other words your gixer may have slid exactly the same amount in that
situation, but the results would feel far less violent to you iyswim.

The up-side is trailies do seem to recover very well from those types
of slides, maybe because the suspension absorbs more of the energy
rather than leaving it up to the contact patch. For example you know
the 90 degree+ bend around the side of the pub carpark at Avebury? I
was going round there towards Swindon at 30mph on the Tig when the
front exited stage right. I was sure it would end in tears, but instead
the left footpeg slammed into the road & kicked the bike upright again.
I'm certain the results would've been different on the MV.
