He has a point you know. With the state of the road around here, you do get strips of pure molten tar. We'll just have to dodge those bits. I'm pretty sure the tarmac is different over there; more like concrete, I thought?

Err... no. The surface may be very sticky, but it's no longer attached to anything. Something must be different, & I suspect it's the amount of stones.
