Looks like it'll be a scorcher. Anyone going?

There's a regular Wednesday bikers meet in the Gloucestershire area
during the summer, which gets quite a turnout. Different pub every
week - I've got the list at home. It's meant to be on the web
somewhere, but my googling has failed.

    And here it is:
27 July Lower Lode Inn Forthampton, Tewks.
3 Aug Red Hart Blaisdon, Forest of Dean.
10 Aug Cross Hands Morton in Marsh.
17 Aug Greyhound Inn** Lime Street, Eldersfield.
24 Aug Village Inn Twyning, Tewkes.
31 Aug Apple Tree Woodmancote, Nr B/Cleeve.
7 Sept Seven Tuns Chedworth, Glos.
11 Sept (Sun) Rideout. Tbc. Leave T.G.I Fridays, Chelt. At 7.50am, for
the London to Brighton Run starting at 10am from the Ace Cafe.
14 Sept Star Inn Ashton Under Hill, Eve.
21 Sept Kings Head** Norton, Glos.

So, this Weds it's Lime Street, which is about 5 miles west of
Tewkesbury (and only a couple of miles from my old house at Staunton).

Any Glaws boys fancy it? Ben (Sales) - fancy a pint after work?

Sheesh, well that's hardly answering the question...

Are you going to Avebury this Wednesday or not then??

    Not this week, unfortunately.

I see you're getting as much use out of phrase "after work" while you can.

I could do but the bike isn't taxed at the moment and won't be till
    September.

Will try and make one of those dates.

Well the Z goes in for a service tomorrow, so I suppose I really ought to
    give it a run.

Get the Tiger sorted out yet?

Damn. Now I have to make a decision.

Not very far, is it? Not sure if that's good or not.

What time were you thinking of going? Fancy swaping bikes for the ride
    over there?

I have some utterly cockmunching wankwathon team-building exercise
at Friday Island (some utterly cockmunching team-building venue in
the Cotswolds) on Wednesday which I'm 75% inclined to not turn up
to at all, so I could well be inclined to appear at Avebury, or some
other random venue so long as it isn't pissing down.

    Tricky coves, decisions.
Well, I go for as much as a reasons as I'll probably know a good dozen
    or so people there.
As to time, I don't mind. Probably best to aim to arrive between 7:00
and 7:30 - if the last one I went to is any guide, it gets very busy -
    at least 100 bikes.

More than happy to swap bikes.

Yep, recharged the battery & cleaned out the float bowls & it
eventually fired after much cranking. I must've forgotten to run it til
the bowls were empty after the last time I used it.

One of these days I'll work out what kills the petrol if it's left
sitting in the carbs for more than a week or two. It never happened
during the first few years, so I think it must be the tank lining
breaking down & reacting with something. But the fuel sat in the tank
doesn't seem to be affected - very weird.

I've got some tax now so I think I'll come along.

I'll be coming straight from work though, so unless I decide to work
late[1] then I'll be looking at getting there around 6.30.

BTW what do the asterixes mean next to the pub name?

    [1] Unlikely.

    something like that.

OK, I'll arrange to get there before 7pm, assuming that fits with
    Verdi.
It means the meeting is held in conjunction with the vintage/classic
club. These meets started with the old boys, but more and more modern
stuff started turning up, so there was an agreement to separate them
out; now they combine once a month.

heh. I like looking at the old stuff. Must be a function of getting
    old.

Which reminds me - yesterday evening I actually watched the cricket!
    What's happening to me?

and you spent most of Saturday in the pub. It won't be long before
you're slobbed out on the settee with a four pack of Lidls best lager,
scratching your bollocks shouting 'Oy love, where's me tea"...
