I did Level 2 today ( after it was rained out in May ) at Eastern Creek.

Most of this level in for the visual skills & once taken in with an open
    mind - all becomes apparent.

    - what they reckon
    * what I got out of it

    Reference Points
    - Find your reference points on the circuit for turning braking ( although
    we aren't using brakes yet)
    * I didn't make it too far into this as I had a flat battery ( doesn't help
with a total loss system ) - but I been there lots so it I didn't miss out
    on too much there.

    Changing Lines
    - Riding around the track at the edges & the finally the centre, then using
    your own lines.
    * Discovered that the track is quite wide in places & lotsa rubbish from the
w/e at the edge of the track. Makes you aware that there is quite alot of
room for error *away* from your comfort zone.

    Vanishing Points
    - Looking forward through the corner for your reference points & riding
    without really looking at them
    * recognised points that I sometimes use to put myself in certain positions
    on the track

    Wide Screen
    - Solution to Target Fixation
    * dismiss unimportant information - I found you can tell a riders track
position with this without really looking at them. Made it easy to overtake
    *really* slow riders.

    Pick up
    - Picking the bike up on the way out of turns to get more traction
    * I knew & used this one already but it's not a bad technique to learn. I
found it hard to do all the Level 1 & 2 visual skills with this one.

Of course I got a guy who was in his 2nd day as an instructor - made things
interesting at times. Sometimes I'd show him something & then we'd get back
on track. I was only using 3,4,5th gears for most of the day with minimal
braking towards the end of the day. Still it was a good day to learn & I did
get a few things out of it. One of them might be a job. never know
