Aus.Moto National Dinner?

Discussion in 'Australian Motorcycles' started by Peter Cremasco, Sep 19, 2004.

  1. With three weeks to go before we leave Toowoomba, I thought it was time
to check what the deal was with this year's National Dinner. The last I
saw mention of it was about a month or so ago when Smee was looking for
general expressions of interest. I haven't seen anything since.

    Has anything further happened?

Watch this space will post something by the end of the week.
So far we can't decide on a venue as it is either "too far, bad service,
too small bad food etc etc."

just make it the Village Green

it has the 4 most important things
easy directions to get to for "everybody"
pay on arrival, no-ones out of pocket if people dont show.
the company well be as good as anywhere else (shit house :p )
its quite open, so moving around and talking to everyone is quite easy and
there is a play ground for any kids that come along

    i think that was 5?

sure the food inst increable, but its about the get together, it you want
great food take yourself to a 5 star

Ok I'll take votes then if people want the village green then it'll be
    there again.
I think that's the fairest way if people decide thats where they want.

  6. I just want somewhere I can get too without having to have a Melways
strapped to the tank. And somewhere close to accommodation so I can
crash without having to ride after drinking. :)

Find a fat bastard on a BMW and a skinny bastard on a Harley trike and
    follow them!

(PS. Does anyone know that motel over the road's name? We should probably
    book a room.)

Have you checked your credit card statement from last year to see who you
paid. My Melways shows the Mulgrave Motor Inn across the road from the
Village Green at 605 FernTree Gully Road. According to www.wotif.com their
regular rate is $115 but you might be able to pick up a room for $90 or $95
    through wotif.

  12. Finally bit the bullet. Building a towbar for the K, and borrowing a
trailer for the trip. Leaving here on the Monday. Overnighting around
Taree way, and staying somewhere around Goulburn or Bateman's Bay on the
Tuesday night. The idea is to hit Bairnsdale by Wednesday night ready
for the Barry Sheene memorial ride to PI on Thursday.
Sounds like a brilliant idea, actually.

  14. Onya Nev! Where were you the year before last when we were trying to find
    a room in Tooraktraktorville?

Shall we go the penthouse again, Clem, Pete, anyone else?

I reckon that's the go Pete; unless you want a room a little lower and
easier to stagger home to in the middle of the night!
Leon's coming so with gNat and Peter's two that'd make 6 of us; perfect!
(and I'm sure we could find some stragglers if anyone pikes).

I just checked Nev's suggestion and yep Mulgrave Motor Inn it is.
Do you wanna' try the wotif thingy and make a booking? (If not I'll do it
    when I get home)
    Cheers ..... Clem
