Phoned them up Saturday morning to add the Husky to the policy but
ended up having to cancel the existing policy and taking out a new
one. Hooray, four month's NCB down the drain, but Husky + Pan on the
same policy worked out considerably cheaper.

Today I find a letter in the post stating "In order to finalise your
policy, we require the registration number of your vehicle(s). Please
note that no breakdown recovery can be effective until we receive your
registration number. For IMMEDIATE COVER ... blah blah"

EX-FUCKING-SCUSE ME? They had the reg for the Pan on file ('cos that's
the policy they had to cancel), plus I made a point of giving them the
Husky's number *twice*. If it turns out that I didn't have any
insurance cover *although they told me that I was insured after taking
my credit card*, they won't know what hit them.

The fact that I appearantly haven't got any breakdown cover already
warrants a really nasty letter to their Customer Services department.

Why the **** do I have to write these letters on a regular basis to
    them?

Well, actually the classic bikes are insured with another mob I found
    a lot better.

Then they sold their bike operations to someone else...

I chop and change my machines on a regular basis, I've been with CN for a
number of years and I never get these problems. I had to cancel my car
ins. as they don't cover vans but have promised to waive the cancellation
fee. Can't comment as I've only just got around to sending off the
    proof).

The only problems I had was it took them two attempts to send me ins.
certs that didn't expire the year before.

  6. The arse for me ATM is knowing that I'm going to have to succumb
eventually and buy a car. The only reason I would ever consider Carole
Nash after the last time I was unfortunate to use them, is because of
this reinstated 6 wheel policy a few people are going on about.

Really, there are cheaper places with better customer care, but having
to start from scratch with a car at nil NCD, is going to hurt. If I
stuck to my principles, I'd **** them off, cut my nose off to spite my
face and be a few hundred quid out of pocket.

    WTF to do?

Actually, **** it. I'd rather go without a car than use those cunts
    again.

Any suggestions where to go to then? My other experiences were rather
crap, so I hesitate to experiment again.

  8. My renewal doesn't come up until April and I don't want to lose a year's
no claims but I've been thinking of phoning around and seeing what the
    deal is.

I'm hideously out of touch as far as cars go (they'd just decommissioned
the Ford Sierra last time I had one!) but when my Sis wanted shot of her
SOMetro, they (various online quote places) wanted over £750 TPFT!

I'm due a few more bike mags ATM and will put it on my list of things to
do. It'll kill some time if nothing else...
