I tried a walkman while riding...and I could hardly hear it. Anyone
have a suggestion? I will change to a portable CD player but seem to
    need some amplification?

Don't know where you are at, but here is what I use and it is worth
    every penny.

Get a pair of custom molded earplugs with the speakers built in.

The earplugs alone will cut all noise down to about 30db. That means
that you can still hear someone talking at close range, and you will
be able to hear EMT vehicles as they approach. Plus, if you are like
me, I have strange ears and I have NEVER found a pair of ear buds of
any type that are comfy in my ears. These work great since they are
    molded to my ear.

However, the speakers make the whole thing worth it. Just use them
like regular headphones. Cool thing is that since all of the other
noise is cut out, you don't have to crank up the volume (further
fatigues and possibly damaging your ears) to hear it.

I even use mine when mowing the grass, jamming with my friends (it
gets loud sometimes!), on airplanes, etc.

Now, there are a few ways to go about that.

1 - go see an ear/nose/throat doctor. They can do it for you in one
office visit and you'll pay for that + the cost of the goo + the
speakers. Probably the most expensive route.

2 - when the international motorcycle show comes around there is a
lady that travels with it and she does them ON SITE. You can wait in
a line or make an appointment. The non-speaker plugs you can get
that day. The ones with the speakers get mailed to you in about a
    week.

BTW - her name is Marilyn Navia and she can be reached at 305-477-2333
    or via email:

3 - you can purchase a kit to do either the injection and / or the
mold yourself. I wouldn't advise this because these are your ears
you are talking about. Getting these things done right by a
professional is the way to go.

Pricing? well the lady at the show does the standard plugs for about
$50.00 (give or take). The ones with the speakers are about $160.
Again, and I stress this - WORTH EVERY PENNY.

    Enjoy!

My confidence and faith in law enforcement is crushed and destroyed.. LOL..
I rode a Wing for a lot of years..Back when I would make the overnights
between Dallas and Los Angelos..(the Iron Butt riders think they invented
it).. I'd lock her down, crank that stereo up with a good cassette playing,
and lean back and let 'er run..When I bought my first cruiser, I was trying
to figure out how to do the Stereo thing.. All of a sudden, it occured to me
that I really didn't want that business.. What the hell am I riding a
motorcycle for, if I wanted all that distraction.. But, then again.. I would
never install a CB on my bike either.. LMAO

Did I post me and my bike on here once and forget about it? I know I
posted my bike, but couldn't remember if my pic was attached.

Besides, I thought we had a discussion about all this and there wasn't
    any law against it?

I really do love my earplugs, and as I mentioned, since I don't have
to crank it up I can still hear what is going on around me to some
    extent.

Sunny does not have a picture of me that I recall. Certainly not one
on her site. I think her and I were talking about the paint scheme of
another biker that IS on her site.

But, here is a link to some pics of my bike if you are interested...

I'll just have to make sure that I am traveling faster than the speed
of light when I pass through there. That way, I can arrive before he
even clocks me.....or something like that.

No mug shots exist of me that I am aware of. ;-)

You wouldn't see me with the earplugs in because my helmet covers them
of course. Speaking of, that was another thing that i like about
them. They fit inside my helmet real well. I won't ride LD without
em (even if I am not listening to music).

Just as I suspected... you're just a big ol' Candy Ass.. I'm puttin' the
word out.. Out of respect for my age, I'm not a candy ass.. Can't commence
to explain how crushed to learn all this.. I'm sure IceMan is suitably
disenfranchised also.. What a disappointment.. Well Well..

Well, I am really into protecting my ears. Being into music as much
as I am and playing in bands I have always been very mindful of them.
I don't want to risk some type of long term damage to them by riding
    bikes.

One of the best examples I can give you is that while standing in line
to have my plugs made a Harley rider walked by and said something to
the effect of "..I don't need any earplugs. I already lost most of my
    hearing."
