of one's job application[1] is simultaneously stressful, angst-ridden
and *boring*.

[1] where the current status is: "we'll let you know possibly by
Friday afternoon or Monday morning at the latest": well, that's my

I can never understand people who get stressed when there's nothing they
can do to affect a situation. There's no consequences to just chilling
out and enjoying yourself - how about a nice ride on a motorcycle?

It is a right arse. Agony, even.

Elly's interview process for her current job was a bit like that -
first interview was Monday, called back for second interview (with
presentation and chat) on Wednesday, for Friday morning. Result by
close of play, Friday.

Phone call at home, 17:40, Friday: "We've got down to two of you, both
equally impressive, with complementary skillsets and experience, so we
can't decide. There'll be a third interview. Have a good weekend,
we'll be in touch with details of the testing procedure".

It was /not/ a good weekend.

Details Monday, frantic Mon/Tues, interview Weds. Result Thurs.

We thought they were a right bunch of monkeys, but they turned out to
be right nice people with decision-making difficulties. Elly makes
their decisions for them, now - everybody's happy.


I feel for you, brother darsy. Go get pissed.
