I think that, in the spirit of the day, you could have given out a bit more than that. Why not remind him that proper bikes have the front brake and the clutch the opposite way round to learner bikes or that chains need to be cleaned and lubed every 30 miles? -- AndrewR, D.Bot (Celeritas) Kawasaki ZX-6R J1, Fiat Coupe 20v Turbo BOTAFOT#2,ITJWTFO#6,UKRMRM#1/13a,MCT#1,DFV#2,SKoGA#0 (and KotL) BotToS#5,SBS#25,IbW#34, DS#5, COSOC# Suspended, KotTFSTR# The speccy Geordie twat.
It's well known that newly qualified riders are at their most vunerable in the first four weeks after they pass their test. I can't understand why the government hasn't done the obvious, and banned these riders for their first four weeks.
Is that true? Never heard it before, but it obviously makes sense. I'm just wondering whether my four weeks started last year when I first started wobbling around on a 125, or whether they won't start until I've done my DAS laster this year. It's just as well I'm immortal, really...
Reminds me of the Viz "Top Tip" years ago: "Avoid the '75% of all road accidents' that happen within 1 mile of your home. Simply park your car 1.1 miles away and walk the remaining distance."
Especially as it's my birthday, however when the phone went earlier on I half expected it to be the examiner shouting "April Fool". So all I need now is the insurance docs to arrive so I can tax the bike and "go play with the traffic" as my instructor would say.
