You could use it as an excuse to fix your wine mountain problem. Simply
play the ashes to ashes drinking game - every time a character drinks
    you drink.

But why make yourself suffer? Play the enhanced version, where you
just do the drinking without having to watch it in the first place.

I thought Life on Mars rocked a fat one, but it's painfully clear that
A2A is just a rehash using some core elements but without the spark. The
fact that she sort-of-knows what's really happening to her removes half
the charm of the original, too.

In short, it's shit, the 80s were shit, all new romantics needed
shooting and I'd quite like an Audi Quattro.

Drake is really annoying, but in the preview of next week's show, she
appears to be wearing nothing more than some red silk lingerie, so I
    might watch it "for research".

Ask me nicely and I'll burn you a dvd of all the "research material" you
can handle (and some you probably wouldn't want to).

Nah, that's the LoM drinking game. The A2A drinking game is "take a
drink every time you think 'this isn't as good as life on mars was'".

Nine seconds in and I'd solved my wine lake problem.

Would this material specifically refer to Keeley Hawes?

No, but if you're desperate you could grab a copy of Tipping The Velvet,
I'm sure she was lezzing it up in that.

How about a copy of Ilsa, She-Wolf of the SS?

I might have Love Camp 7 somewhere...

I found the first two episodes mildly entertaining, but this week
suffered from 3rd episode slump IMO.

Next Thursday I will be watching Jonathan Meades "Magnetic North".

  15. Utter tripe and not a patch on the first series, which only worked as a
    novelty anyway.

Indeed. I was really interested by the Hanseatic League stuff and I love
his use of language. He might fit in here quite well. "To be northern is
to be forever ill at ease with oneself."

Well of course he was including himself, seeing as his definition of the
north (the land of herrings and beer), in the context he was discussing,
    starts in northern France.
