have been the only one to have seen it, due to the total lack of

Sounds like Customs & Excise, they have been at this for years with the
day trippers to France.

The EU say that C&E are operating illegally. But if C&E had to
compensate people they had illegally prosecuted, fined and or imprisoned
it could bring down the government by the shear size of the final
figure.
So would the government do anything.
