I have a full face and a flip, ATM. No shit? ;-) Hmm... not sure I have.. if you could send details to the addy in my sig, please? -- Cheers! Fr Jack 96 Tiger. FRJACKUKRM AT GMAIL DOT COM skype: fr.jack (without the dot)
Swot I got at the mo. Shoulders are taking a beating. The MRA & Secdem are the only ones worth considering imo. I've looked, but would like to see one fitted. -- Cheers! Fr Jack 96 Tiger. FRJACKUKRM AT GMAIL DOT COM skype: fr.jack (without the dot)
Still trying to work out if I'm Trinny or Suzanna..... ;-) The bike is useful, when it comes to parking near work after 8am and when Warrington council decide to do more unnecessary roadworks, causing 2 mile tailbacks..... The car is as bad on my neck - really need to get something with more headroom. I loved my mum's old shogun, but I'm not sure I could afford to run one. I'll sort something, eventually. -- Cheers! I'll detail it here for future reference. There's some pics on http://homepage.ntlworld.com/preston.kemp/tig/ The bottom mounting points of the screen are meant to be one screw further down i.e. the one level with the lights (see http://homepage.ntlworld.com/preston.kemp/tig/Screen2.jpg). To make it adjustable I just bolted an 'L' shape bracket to the fairing in the middle of the screen cut-out, stuck a bolt in it to act as a locating pin, then bolted the holey bracket to the screen (http://homepage.ntlworld.com/preston.kemp/tig/Screen.jpg). I can angle it forwards or backwards, using any of the holes to lock it in place on the bolt in the 'L' bracket. There's a bit of velcro between the two brackets to stop it bouncing off. The silver strip you can see running round the front of the fairing behind the screen is just a bit of bar to stiffen it as the full force of the wind goes through two brackets & bends the middle of the fairing otherwise. It looks like shit, but works brilliantly, & lets me flop the screen right back when off-road so I can see the front wheel, or on hot days for a bit of extra air. In the fully forward position I can happily cruise at not entirely legal speeds without any buffeting or wind noise. There's a pic somewhere on the Yahoo group of an MRA in the standard position. I think the owner had heated it & bent the top out to form a flip.
They've definitely helped my shoulders, which were fucking painful up to this time last year when I started on Dona, a glucosamine sulphate powder. Now, I can swing from tall buildings and leap over buses.
Wotcha. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=13971&item=6530826848&rd=1 I rather prefer the Tin man from the Wizard of Oz approach...... http://www.moonshiners.org.uk/funnelhead.htm
#...dedicated follower of fashion I think we're looking at a public warning for the trousers and sandals, though.
Err.. yessss. It maybe restricting bloodflow to the head but I'm puzzled how muscle tightening can cause the inner ear to go haywire. Triumph Tiger 'touring' screen - I got one for my tiger and now I get hardly any wind-pressure on my upper torso and head. Which is good because I too have arthritis in my upper spine (psoriatic arthritis not rheumatoid or osteo). Phil
I have a powerbronze tall screen on mine - still get the buffeting. I've had a look about and discovered a good option, made by secdem, in France. http://www.secdem.fr/CATALOGUE/somm..._mod____SUPER_/tiger___1er_mod____super_.html Much wider and the flip looks about right to take the flow over my head. I may grab one and try it. -- Cheers! Fr Jack 96 Tiger. FRJACKUKRM AT GMAIL DOT COM skype: fr.jack (without the dot)
You want something comfy with a big fairing and a backrest. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=9806&item=4547247953&rd=1
1: It won't fit through me yard gate. 2: I already own a car, TYVFM! 3: V V V V V ;-P -- Cheers! Fr Jack 96 Tiger. FRJACKUKRM AT GMAIL DOT COM skype: fr.jack (without the dot)
I was boring and bought the standard Triumph touring flipscreen. Which is OK but at silly speeds does tend to make the front end 'interesting'.. Phil
