  1. We went, and we wanna thank them there Harley guys for throwing such a
nice motor'sikel get-to-together. They Xpected around 5,000 to
10,0000...I do know there was a lot of us...there in Hot Springs. We had
to stay Saturday night at Arkadelphia, about 33 miles over on I30...BUT
there was probably a 1000 bikers in and around that area. That one main
road, Broadway, HY 7, going thru, was covered with parked bikes and
folks standing and drinking. and we ended up at Big Daddys, where a few
Hell's Angels came in, and another group called Southside Crew. When we
saddled up to go to the Motel in Delphia, it looked like there was gonna
be a Rumble...(use to be called,e?)...Our daughter and her husband
stayed an hour or 2 longer, and this morning they said it never came to
a Rumble, just mouthing and string at each and stuff like that....She
did say that "bear" the bouncer, was busy
circling around...Big Daddys' was an old joint, a fun place....one could
drink his beer and stand around outside.....the best Rally I've been
to...tell more on down the thread.......chuckle......I do wanna say that
our Honda Bitches Rode with us..(wink)

Politics is supposed to be the second
    oldest profession.I have come to
realize that it bears a very close
    resemblance to the first.

  5. More stuff)....have ya'll seen the motorcycles, with the 10 gallon tanks
and the V8''s. there were two there....the rider sits low, and the
speedometer is about level with the riders' chin area....so they don't
need much of a windSheld....that's quite a two wheeler...I just wonder
how it would be to 'troump" down on one wonna those babies....they are
built somewhere around BigD....old BW might just know where that be?
eh? We noticed the regular size alternater, and belt...and it must have
a reg size battery...right? cheeWahWah and cost has to be..30 thousand
    huh? •bjay•

The Big Hoss is built in Arlington, I think bjay.. I never have ridden with
anyone on one of those puppies, but one pulled up alongside my son, at a red
light.. Being the first one he'd seen, Brian didn't know what it was.. He
rides a pretty awesome little Shadow, himself and sitting there without
looking that monster over, real good.. When the light changed, Brian
couldn't believe that way that damn thing left.. Boom, and he was sitting at
the next light, waiting for my son to catch up..

When he got beside him, this time.. Brian realized he was looking at a full
fledged V-8..The light changed and Boom.. that dude was gone again.. No
catch up this time, hell there weren't anymore lights.. All Brian saw was
tail lights..way off up there.. and leaving..

Brian got home and called me to tell me about it.. I think. the next day I
found out about the Big Hoss..

Since then I've seen quite a few around a few of the places I hang out and
at the rallies around the country.. I've never even sat on one, and am
afraid to.. I am just silly enough that I might go buy me one.. LOL.. Never
had the pleasure to run with one either.. It's an awesome motorcycle, no
    doubt..

One other little item of interest.. The ones I've seen are all direct drive
and don't have a clutch.. Did you notice that ?

Nah .. bjay.. Direct drive is entirely different than automatic
transmission, the way I understand it.. In my own unqualified impression,
there is some sort of converter that transfers power from the engine to the
drive train... Sheesh.. who knows ?

I've heard a variety of prices from arond 30 to 50 thousand.. but, I've not
acutally priced the big puppies, myself.. Hell .. I wouldn't even sit on
one, when I had the opportunities..

looks like they start at $34K and go up.

it says two speed+reverse "semi-auto", so it may be a shift with no
clutch action needed and a belt final drive. given the power to weight
ratio, the gearing almost isn't of that much importance. on their big
one, the 502, consider five hundred horsepower is pretty impressive on 4
wheels in a viper or corvette, on two wheels it's gonna be hang on for
dear life. in comparison the 120hp S&S and 170hp busa look pale, at
least until it's time to make a turn. could gear probably gear it for
200+mph easily. I bet it throws a lot of heat from the headers and the
radiator though, and i'd hate to have to pick it up.
