I used to work for a Fiat garage in the mid 80s. I mainly drove a van as

I used to love driving the 4x4 Pandas though. The 999cc FIRE engine is ace.
Select the lowest gear possible and rev the nuts off it.

[1] I don't think I've ever been as popular as when I had a fleet of brand

If the slump happens you'd lose much less on a welsh property and could
    probably afford to move back.

I had a Panda 4x4 as a courtesy car when my last Alfa was in for a
    service.

It was _fantastic_. An absolute shed, with rust everywhere, but it went
well, and abusing the 4x4 system [1] on wet roads was a big laugh.

[1] You're not meant to use it at over 30mph..... allegedly ;-)

  4. I've got an idea. Why don't you ask Timo to find a place for you?

You sad ****. The only good thing about those was the 4wd system, made

Indeed. One of the reasons I want to sell up now and cash in on what
    I've made.

You don't mind losing a bit in a slump if it's all paid for, IYSWIM.

The Older Gentleman was seen penning the following ode to ... whatever:
    "No work required"

    .... it'll be a ruin in 6 month's time anyway.

My sister lives in Glynneath, which is v.nice. I haven't seen you
mention that in this thread. You have said Aberdare, which is OK, and
Merthyr, which is much better than it used to be. Sis used to live in
Troedyrhiw (sp?), just down the road from Merthyr. Looks nice enough
on the surface but there was something nasty I couldn't place there.
Look around, I suppose I'm saying, there's lots more places than you
    have mentioned.
Nah - July will come in a flash if you do the renting thing.
6 months is nothing. You could live in a caravan .... in fact, why not
get a winter let on a holiday cottage or even a -gasp- caravan. That's
be v.cheap, allow you to save up for goodies for your new place.
    Good luck.

    [big snip]
I moved to Hong Kong to take a job, admittedly I was single at the time.
If you don't do it, you'll prolly regret it later and always wonder how it
    would have turned out.

Oh, I moved back after 6 months as my boss wasn't much good at paying me on
time. First month was 11 days late, next month was 2 weeks late and I never
did get paid for the last month.
    I don't regret it though.

  15. What you need is a fully equipped touring caravan with all mod cons
    that's in my front garden.
