Aren't pickups great.

  1. So... Got a call early this morning that there was a deer hit close to
my house, raced to it in my pickup[1] but, unfortunately some fucker
beat me too it. As I went home my brother (in his pickup...) turned
into my driveway and sure enough he'd collected it for me. Excellent.
Nice little doe, hit around the head and neck- not much damage.

Then this evening my brother mentioned he'd seen another one but
couldn't stop for it... so went out again and got a young stag.

Just spent the last three or so hours gutting and skinning them. Have
liver, kidneys and testicles in my fridge and the two cleaned carcasses
in my garage (in a wheelbarrow).

    Think I need another freezer.

Looking forward to eating the testicles tomorrow.

[1] Last week's purchase, Toyota Hilux; 20 years old and not *too*
rusty. A scream to drive but very slow...

your definition of "cleaned" appears to differ from mine - bag it for
fucksake - putting it in a wheelbarrow's strictly for speed-taking
    rednecks.

    Oh, hang on.

  3. Hey, it's washed and ready to be cut up. The wheelbarrow's clean and
it's covered with muslin to keep the flies off.

    And, heh.

  6. Which is grossly inaccurate since:
    a) I have no porch (any more)
    b) Neither of my kids (hardly kids anymore) are crippled
    c) No one plays the banjo

However... for some strage reason the directions seemed to work well.

  7. Umm.. no.

I didn't mention that his pickup was towing a trailer with a digger on
it and mine's 20 years old so it probably looked more like 'hide the
tools, lock the garage and outbuildings, here comes the theiving Irish
    pikeys.'

'Cept, of course, no self-respecting tarmac gang member would drive
anything more than five years old.

He's been getting steadily worse over the last few years and he's now
reached the point where nothing he does surprises me. Maybe that's why
he's always the first one I contact when I decide I want to do
something most others would refuse to consider?

    dear god.
nothing he ever did "surprised" me. "Astonished", I'd grant you.
if you want the easy option, just call me: I'll tell you to just
fucking do it, every time. (and then laugh myself stupid 'cos you
probably would, no matter how dunderheaded the objective in question).

I don't need encouraging, it's more a case of finding others willing
    to do the same things.
