Is there a civilian counterpart of yours doing this for insurance
companies and are their findings made public?
Would seem to be the pertinent point here.

Why not for a srious injury, a man in a coma can't tell you much more
    thana dead guy.

Even if he's too squeemish, his point is still valid.

I can definitely say that of the 2 tires that Ive seen plugged on the side
of the road, both were really well repaired. After removal of each tire,
both plugs were totally part of the tire and could not be removed with
pliers and a screwdriver. One of the tires was my own that I put another
1000 miles on after plugging. I kept my speed at 80 or below and didn't try
any high speed runs. After seeing the plugs from the inside of the tire and
playing with it, I would plug another tire and ride it with confidence
below 80 MPH. But, I would replace it as soon as I could afford it. It's
hard keeping a high performance bike under 80!

Repaired tire or no, that's bad luck. The relevent question here is will
plugs fail catastophically, and I don't believe that is the case.

Chuck... Did you employ a sticky rope type plug that became part of the
    tire???

  4. Geez, talk about non sequiturs. With money on the line, they'd chuck out the
front tire in a heart beat.

Maybe you ride about in traffic WFO. Not me.

  6. WHY would anyone wish to live east of the Mississippi?
That's the land of mouth breathing nascrap fans...the only
reason to live there is getting paid an $10,000,000 USD
starting pay. Anything less is not worth the effort.

  7. Hey now. I live east of the Mississssssipppi. No nascarp to be found.

And the $10,000,000USD starting pay will let you afford a nice little
    studio around here!

Ain't that the truth. Doing 80 on 316 in the 55 MPH zone MIGHT keep you
up with traffic. I know, I ride it twice a day.

There seems to be almost as many NASCAR fans in California and in the
northeast as there are in the south nowadays. Hell, they've taken away
all our good tracks in the south and gave them to the new england states
    or to the western states.

Obviously you don't know so therefore you will not be able
    to obtain them.

Odinn you are an okay guy...but nascar while resembling
racing isn't. Not really and if I have to explain WHY it
    isn't you wouldn't understand. It just isn't imo...most car
racing isn't either. Avout the only stuff that is racing imo
is Rallye and some road racing.

I'm a huge NASCAR fan, and an ex roundy-round racer (1/4 and 1/2 mile
dirt). Hard packed dirt is much different than asphalt in the way it is
raced on, but there is a LOT of work that goes to racing both. Now,
let's see who wins ROC, that puts the rallye guys against the F1, Indy
    and NASCAR guys.

I spent many a saturday night in the announcers booth at the
1/2 mile asphalt and 3/8 dirt oval in Springfield, MO. I
KNOW the work that goes into it. Used to be in the booth at
the Bullring track in Wichita, Ks back in the early 70's(
    I-80 speedway? )
Only difference from talking to the guys that did both was
set-up and trying to not cook a set of Hoosiers in one
night...some days you drive easy because you can only afford
    ONE set of tires...
    Did you mean IROC?

That is populated by mostly nascar, IRL and cart. Very
few racers from else where...it's NEVER truly an
international race. Frankly the better drivers ARE racing in
WRC and it's supporting leagues. If you can't turn left you
    can't race...
