    ..... Anyway, you were supposed to
    pick up that a flock of crows is a 'murder' and a flock of raven is an
    'unkindness'.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    An unkindness?!!? Fark someone has gone to a lot of trouble with this
    "group of ..." thingie haven't they?
    No; I'm sorry to say that the cleverness of your post flew clean over my
    head.
    Thanks for explaining.
    There you go confusing "murder" with "killing" again Mike.
    If you just use the correct word for the correct thing then there's no
    confusion. (Just like your bicycle example)
    What an odd point of view. Wonder where you got that from. Your
    statement is nonsense but at least its not illogical.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    That wasn't it? Damn; I've gotta' admit I'm totally lost then.
    That was the closest thing to a point that I could discern from all that
    "aren't I clever", "watch me contradict myself" stuff you were posting.

    Did anyone else get anything from it?

    I contradicted myself? I think you're mistaken. I left all of the
    contradictions to C.A.L. And he did a wonderful job of it.

    I already did. Here's the short version.

    "Until someone has been convicted, with or without being caught as in
    tried in absentia or even tried after death, the deceased has not been
    murdered. A court may determine that a person has been killed
    unlawfully and thus murdered without a killer being prosecuted."

    Oh, I see, I'm 'off topic' because I responded to what you wrote, rather
    than what you were thinking. Sorry but innuendo doesn't convey well in this
    medium.

    I agree with [1].

    I agree with [2], but what version are you quoting? I recall one that says
    "Thou shall do no murder" so doesn't that leave you open to selective
    interpretation?
    "(Roman Catholic) You shall not kill / (Lutheran) You shall not murder"

    By the way, as I said earlier, it would also apply to Jews, as much if not
    more that Christians.

    What did the original text say in it's original language in a culturally
    appropriate context?

    The point I was trying to get to is that many people talk about the 10
    commandments and hold them up as a reasonable standard for good living, but
    don't actually know what they all are, and that a person who obeyed them
    would be in no danger of breaking any Federal Law, however, feel free to
    ignore that argument if it goes against what you are thinking.

    Well, that's where the fun starts.

    If (using your interpretations) you're a Catholic you wouldn't kill.

    If you're a Lutheran, our Good Captain would tie you up in knots about
    when you can an can't kill, so, just to be on the safe side, you'd
    still end up not killing. The end result would be the same. No dead
    bodies.
    I omitted the Jews for several reasons:

    [1] I believe that with the Christian scriptures, Old Testament
    bullshit can be resloved by going with the siprit of Jesus's teachings
    (especially the Sermon On the Mount.)

    [2] Jewish doctrine is so ambiguous and contradictory that, depending
    on which bit you want to focus upon, you can justify anything. I
    believe this is no accident.

    [3] If you say anything critical of the Jews or their scriptures, you
    are labelled an anti-Semite.

    Therefore if you include the Jews, they will soon quote a piece of
    scritpure which totally undermines any position you hold, on the way
    to court, where they will sue you for being anti-Semitic.

    So why bother?

    You'd only be tempted, out of frustration, to consider murder, and
    then, if you followed through with that, you'd end up in court,
    again, where they would soon quote a piece of the law which totally
    undermines your defence. Then, after you get out of jail, again,
    you'd likely go an a mass killing spree, killing more Jews, and now,
    also, lawyers and judges. It would all end in tears, I tell you,
    Pietro.

    Best to just not mention the Jews... the hard core ones fire white
    phosepheros cluster munitions indiscriminately into civilian areas...
    I wouldn't mess with them...
    You've lost me now (which is never difficult...)
    I get what you're saying, but under our laws, all sorts of killing is
    justified which is not justifed if you consider (a) Thou shall not
    kill, and (b) Jesus's sermon on the mount.

    So, my argument was that if you were a true follower of Jesus's
    teachings, all this mumbo jumbo about what is and isn't lawful killing
    would not apply to you, because your moral compass would not be
    swinging quite so wildly. Ergo, you would never find yourself in a
    court having to argue that you are not guilty of murder.
