Are petrol stations subsidising diesel with unleaded ?

I've noticed around our way that the price of unleaded and diesel
    has "leveled" off.

For example , we have a number of petrol stations selling at

    U/L 100.9
    Dl 101.9

    And
    U/L 99.9
    Dl 99.9

Now, unless I am mistaken diesel has more tax on it (or has thois changed,
I've got bored trying to find the data).

So, are we U/L users subsidising oil burners ?

The Esso at the bottom of the road has both at 99.9

IIRC it was an Asda thing - if I could be arsed I could look up
the post on HUKD that announced it.

    Will this do?

    Indeed.

God knows what's going on with LPG. 53.9 here, 48.9 in Marlow.

    You are mistaken.
They are taxed at the same price and are now the same price , unlike six months ago where diesel was 50% more expensive than unleaded when the tax and duty was removed

Fingers crossed the exchange rate improves in the coming weeks,
    although I doubt it will.

CH & Austria are cheaper[1] than Italy or Germany, so bear this in mind
    when hopping across borders.

[1] offset by having to pay for a vignette if you intend to use their
motorways, 4.8Euro for 10 days in Austria and a whopping 40CHF in CH, as
the annual one is the only option.

    september.org:

it will be on the Abbey Zero card so it doesn't matter. That's not real
    money is it?

Oh, for those who have not been to Italy before - many of their petrol
stations are unmanned and take cash. This can be a bit of a fucker if you
have used an ATM and it spewed out the cash in 50 Euro notes.

Obviously I'd like it better if rates were back around £1 : €1.40, but
it costs what it costs - no point in letting a shit economy mess up a
    good holiday.

Do we actually need to use any swiss motorways? I know last time I
went from Italy to France via Switzerland I did buy a vignette and was
    (AFAIK) riding on A roads.
