Changing my visor this morning and I snapped the top lug off one
    of the side pods, arrrgh!
What a fuckin' stupid, shite design it is though. It's so stressed when
sliding the visor in/out it's _bound_ to break sometime and the stupid
    little levers are just useless.
The crappy side pods just make the shit helmet noisy as **** anyway.
And no doubt new sidepods for it are about 50 quid. :-(
**** it, I'm gonna buy a cheap Shoei for the winter and sling the Arai
in a cupboard, pissed off with it.

I've owned Arai's for many years and never had a problem changing
visors. You're just a clumsy ****. Buy an Open Face.

Clumsy ****. I can change the visor out without taking the helmet off.
Never mind the tabs, just pull the bottom of the sides out a bit and the
    visor pops out.

It's a shit design. My previous Shoei was much easier, visor just clicks
on with no side pods to break or create air turbulence right next to
    your ear.

I much prefer open faced helmets, but I ride with a big old
screen and the thought of smacking my face onto that top edge
    terrifies me.

Having said that I did risk it when things were very hot this summer.

The sole purpose of the little lugs is to flex the plastic of the side pod
so the visor pops off the pivot... you can do this gently with your fingers,
just be careful not to pull the side pod off.

I've replaced hundreds of Arai side pods and visor mechs. When I was at
Gericke it was almost a daily occurence and panic set in if we ran out
of the parts. They aren't a good design and do break fairly easily, we
even had some break in the shop on new lids.

  8. Arai will supply new bits for free. Just go to the shop where you bought
it and give them the number off the back. I've had a couple of new side
    pods for free.

  9. My wife has a Shoei and the little plastic screws keep coming loose so
the visor flaps around at speed.

They won't any more. Arai always charge for spares now.

Calm down. It's only a bit of plastic.

If it's the RHS one, I've got a spare that you could have out in the shed.

Yeah, I was a tad annoyed, and I've found out they are only(!) 25 quid.
Thanks, but I need a LHS one, in blue (Astro R Saltire)
I have a spare RHS one from my old Shwantz rep Quantam if anyone
    needs it? ;-P
