Arai "service" - what does it actually mean?

I'm on my hols, and a friend brought my helmet out here for me. Naturally he
didn't leave it in the box, as I asked, he lobbed it in his suitcase albeit
wrapped in towels. I was a bit worried about it getting damaged on the
flight, but the exterior looks fine to me, no cracks etc. I was going to take
it for a precautionary service, but the local Arai dealer didn't seem to
understand the concept. Nor do I, I suppose.

Does anyone know what an Arai service entails e.g. exactly how do they check
the integrity etc? I've seen their vans at bike shows etc.

NB Yes, I'm a massive poof etc.

From what I've seen they visually inspect it, clean it, lube the
mechanism and make sure you've got the right cheekpads. They're not
    doing an x-ray integrity check

That's what it said in your letter from the importer, isn't it?

They take a cast from the inside, so if you later suffer an injury
they can make you a replacement head.

  7. Using the patented Mavis Beacon "Hunt&Peck" Technique, ginge
Champ ought to complain. They've left a *huge* bit of moulding flash on
the front of his new head.

Surely that's the only bit that isn't flash?

OI! I don't have to take drugs to keep it up.

    Yet...
