Jean has taken a shine to above mentioned bike.
So much, that she is considering buying new and getting rid of the 750SS...

Anyone here had one (the Aprilia not Jean) ? Stuff to watch out for/know
    about ?

A local bloke Geoff Prentice[1] has had three Pegasos and toured all
over Europe on each of them, so that says something about them. He has
had one failure, and that was a fuel pump on his latest one. I'm pretty
sure they have the Yamaha 660 single engine cos Geoff said something
about the fuel pump being a Yamaha item not Italian.

He's been very happy with them, and even kept the last one when he
    bought the latest one.

[1] Used to own a little motorbike spares and repair shop in town, and
has a weird V-Max combo with home-built steering chair wheel and home
fabricated alloy body. The man's a bit of a loon, but a nice loon.

Are they Yamaha motors now - the first Pegasos at least were powered by
    Rotax.

I was always having to tell people that a Nordwest was neither a Rotax
    or Yamaha lump.

I think they are. I am certain Geoff mentioned it at some time. His
first Pegaso Strada, years back, was a Rotax engined one for sure

Holy crap Geoff's still around!! Whereabouts? I wonder if he's still
with Helen. When I knew him he was still recovering from cutting a car
    in half with a 900ss.

I wouldn't be at all surprised, she does seem to be extremely well
spoken and educated. I'm sure she was born a little before 1960 though,
as she appeared to be mid 20s when I first met her when I was 16 and
    riding a FS1E.

I'll do my best, but as far as I know Geoff and Helen are still living
at Geoff's dad's farm cos Geoff has taken over running it. 'E be a

Helen rides an early SV650 now.

I'll proably see Geoff on Thursday so I'll give him your email address.

You certainly don't see many Aprilia 650s on the roads around here. Here
being the Brecon Beacons NP, which would be ideal terrain for such a
bike. There are loads of the BMW 650s though, older Aprilia built ones
    and newer German ones.
