There is a bit of a struggle going on between my ears as to how this should
be done. It relates to the thread started by "corks"... use ya mirrors:

However, in the scheme of things, that's history now and the appropriateness
of the following quote might not get the recognition that I think it
    deserves if posted there... so,
in Twist Bits, AMCN, 28/11 - 11/12/08, p 122, Boris has this to say:
"It's not very sporting to poke fun at the slow kids in class, but it does
grant me some schadenfreude at their grotesque worthlessness.
Not one of these arseclowns has yet managed to grasp that motorcycling is
not a sheltered workshop, a crèche for the uncertain, or a mutual admiration
society. It's a true live-or-die lifestyle where the stakes are imponderably
high and dumbness is paid for in meat."
Yeh, IMO too good to let pass, sanitization doesn't do much for me.

Another view is possible. The truckdriver was extremely and possibly
criminally negligent. The speed difference between the bike and the truck
was such that the truck would have hit any number of at least moderately
experienced motorcyclists. Vilifying the motorcyclist who was killed
advances neither justice nor responsible driving.

  3. Boris is a bit of a tool who loves the badboy image. Personally I think
motorcycling is a choice you make that is totally irrational and dangerous but
the payoff is a lot of fun. 2 of my other hobbies scuba diving and Brazillian
Jiu Jitsu could be thought of the same way. Both have huge potential for
death(scuba diving) and injuries (BJJ and I have a multitude of stuffed joints
and broken bones to prove it) but both I love doing and continue to do for the
    payoff I get in fun.

  6. There ought to be consensus about putting warnings in the titles of
threads featuring examples of Boris fishing for a reaction, too...

Yeh... :) well it was raining. here today and I did make 2 genuine
attempts to get started out there, but had to find something better to do. I
have been sitting on that quote for a while now and it just had to fit in
    somewhere.

Um, happened to pay homage to it while down at the Classics last weekend.
All seems to work ok. Must have finally digested all the hard lumps
deposited by those bloody Q'landers down for the GP. Any such thing
happening in the future might lead to some vetting being done.

I don't know ANYTHING about British iron Johno but is any of that bike
    actually made by Matchless?
(Not that it's any less gorgeous or desirable)

  12. That Matchless, Knobby, is a pre 1963 classic racer which would have been
made entirely by Matchless / AJS
It looks like the overhead cam model which could be an added extra by those
    crafty Un Zud fellas
Doesn't look like the Matchless frame nor do the wheels or the brakes.
But at least, he did come in second

So that's a yes followed immediately by a no is it George?
    You're consistent.

  14. Hi Johno,
It was only a reference that the bike is in New Zealand and the OHC looked
very new for a pre 1963 model,
Thought that maybe the crafty Un Zudders had added the OHC at a later date

Then again, the motor could be a find from a secret hoard.
The owner races it and came second in the last
